Fundraising and Applications
My first successful funding application was submitted when I was just 18yrs old. This Community Foundation North East funding was the first a long list I've unlocked to deliver cultural activities for artists and the public.
I've written successful applications for Arts Council England, BFI Film Audience Network, Scottish Power Foundation and a range of independent trusts and foundations.
I have lots of experience working on successful crowdfunding campaigns - including two I delivered for Amateur Ornithologist albums, and two I have supported other creatives.
For Faye MacCalman's debut album campaign, I supported Faye to work through the barriers she faced in asking of help and launching the project. I copyedited the Harbourmaster Productions studio campaign.
I work with Daydream Cinema to apply for funding, support the planning and delivery of accessible film screenings and perform a range of admin tasks.
Since 2023 I've helped bring in over £30k and we've hosted 6 events in Newcastle upon Tyne since 2023.
While working as Learning Participation Officer at The Customs House in South Tyneside, I developed my fundraising and application writing skills.
I wrote on successful applications that supported The Takeover Festival, TCH Youth Theatre and Customs Reels film project - as well as The Customs House Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation proposal.
Having worked with Sunderland Shorts Film Festival as a musical performer, awards judge and event volunteer, I wrote the annual event's successful BIFA accreditation application.
As a result, SSFF has been recognised as supporting British filmmakers, and the films selected by Sunderland Shorts have a greater chance of being nominated for BIFA awards.
